Artificial Reef Meeting Scheduled
Tuesday - October 30th, 2001 - 7:00 pm
At the Freeport Recreation Center, Freeport NY

To all interested parties:

On Tuesday October 30th, at 7PM at the Freeport Recreation Center, Freeport NY, representatives from the LIRR would like to meet with NYFTTA delegates and other interested organizational representatives, interested persons, business leaders, etc. in assisting the LI Rail Road in an undertaking to use decommissioned rail road cars as artificial reef material.

The LIRR will be decommissioning over 700 electric RR cars from there inventory. They can be used as simple scrap material or sent to Delaware for there artificial reef project or we can have them for our use, to supplement Long Islands reef sites.

It would be a shame to loose this opportunity. Artificial reefs provide essential fish habitat, Artificial reefs benefit our recreational fishing community, and Artificial reefs are an important tool in maintaining the viability of the recreational fishing industry.

Interested persons should contact me directly via e-mail at: 76021.1455@compuserve.com or by phone at : (631) 654-2311.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

John Mantione, NYFTTA President

Note: The Freeport Recreation Center is located at 130 E. Merrick Rd., two blocks west of the Meadowbrook Parkway.
